Promotion of Access to Information Act Manual

1. Introduction

This manual is published in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA") and Section 18 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). It provides information on how to request access to records held by Krevio.

3. Guide on How to Use PAIA

The South African Human Rights Commission ("SAHRC") has compiled a guide on how to use PAIA. This guide is available from the SAHRC:

4. Records Held by Krevio

Categories of records:

  • Client records — Project proposals, contracts, invoices, correspondence
  • Employee/contractor records — Employment contracts, payment records (if applicable)
  • Website records — Website analytics data, contact form submissions, booking data
  • Financial records — Accounting records, tax documentation, banking records
  • Operational records — Business plans, marketing materials, internal policies

5. Purpose of Processing Personal Information

We process personal information for:

  • Providing web design and digital marketing services
  • Managing client relationships and communications
  • Complying with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Website analytics and improvement
  • Marketing (with consent)

6. Categories of Data Subjects

  • Clients and prospective clients
  • Website visitors
  • Service providers and contractors
  • Employees (if applicable)

7. Recipients of Personal Information

Personal information may be shared with:

  • Third-party service providers — Calendly, Google Analytics, Hostinger
  • Professional advisors — Accountants, legal counsel
  • Regulatory authorities — When required by law

8. Cross-Border Transfers

Some third-party service providers may process personal information outside of South Africa. We ensure adequate safeguards are in place as required by POPIA Section 72.

10. How to Request Access to Records

To request access to records held by Krevio:

  1. Complete the prescribed PAIA request form (Form 2, available from the SAHRC website or the Department of Justice)
  2. Submit the form to our Information Officer at hello@krevio.co.za
  3. Include proof of identity
  4. Specify the records requested and the form of access required
  5. Pay the prescribed request fee (if applicable)

We will respond within 30 days of receiving a valid request.

11. Grounds for Refusal

Access to records may be refused on the following grounds:

  • Protection of personal information of third parties (Section 63)
  • Protection of commercial information (Section 64)
  • Protection of confidential information (Section 65)
  • If disclosure would endanger the safety of any individual (Section 66)
  • Records privileged from production in legal proceedings (Section 67)

12. Remedies Available

If your request is refused, you may:

  • Lodge an internal appeal within 60 days
  • Apply to a court for relief
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
